Beachfront Jazz on as planned; but beach access restricted

The much anticipated Beachfront Jazz event in Tobago, is set to continue as planned.

In a brief social media statement on Friday, the organisers stated that despite the recent shark attack at Turtle Beach/Courland Bay, the Beachfront Jazz event will still take place as scheduled.

British national Peter Smith, a guest at the hotel, was attacked by a bull shark while bathing.

The Beachfront Jazz will be hosted at Starfish Hotel, Turtle Beach today (Saturday).

However, for safety reasons, access to the beach will be denied, but the event will be held within a fenced area inland.

The organizers 

assured that they are preparing for an “incredible afternoon” of jazz.

It said, “Rest assured, we’re gearing up for an unforgettable afternoon of Jazz and can’t wait to see you there.”

Beachfront Jazz is part of the Jazz and Music Weekend, which began on Friday, April 25th and will end on Sunday, April 28th.
