Chief Sec. gets first hand look of Studley Park Quarry

Chief Secretary Honourable Ancil K. Dennis paid a visit to the Studley Park Quarry for a first-hand look at its operations. The Chief Secretary was given a tour of the quarry on Thursday by Acting General Manager, Studley Park Enterprise Limited, Mr. Raye Sandy and Deputy Chairman Studley Park Enterprise Limited, Terrence Henry.

Management informed the Chief Secretary of two plants that are nonoperational at this time, one of which should be up and running again by today (Friday 20th, November) and the other, within two weeks.

The Studley Park Quarry was re-engineered in 2017 and continued operations under a new name- Studley Park Enterprise Limited (SPEL). Since then, the company has seen tremendous gains such as an increase in the distribution of material by over 400%.

SPEL’s market is expanding further across the Caribbean as the Tobago House of Assembly earned approximately US$100,000 through the shipment of 5,000 metric tonnes of aggregate to St. Vincent and the Grenadines in July, 2020. SPEL is also seeking to do business with Grenada and the rest of the Caribbean and continues to supply the local markets.
