BREAKING NEWS: Kidnapped fishermen released

The families of the three fishermen who were kidnapped early Tuesday morning have been reunited with their relatives; they were released along the Icacos shoreline around 7:30 last night.

No information has been given by the family as to the payment of the increased ransom of US $20,000, which the captors allegedly demanded for their freedom. Police believe that the initial ransom demand of US $10,000 was paid.

The three men, Keith Schneider, 60, Ramkissoon Harricharan, 64, and Venezuelan Alvaro Espinoza, all residents of Fullerton Village, Cedros were medically examined at the Cedros District Health Facility. There were no visible signs of injury, and the three men have told the police that they were not harmed during the ordeal.

They are expected to be interviewed by police some time today.
