Man Granted Bail After Charge Of Attempted Larcency

ANTHONY RAMGOBIN, 24, of Nelson Street, Freeport was granted twenty-five thousand bail by a Justice of the Peace for attempted larceny.

He is scheduled to appear at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court on December 13th 2021.

A 39-year-old woman from Felicity reported on October 20th, she allegedly received a phone call from someone who identified themselves as the Mayor of Chaguanas.

The male caller allegedly indicated he could secure a house from the Housing Development Corporation with a down payment of sixteen thousand dollars.

However, she told the caller she only had two thousand, five hundred dollars at the time.

Arrangements were then allegedly made for them to meet at the Chaguanas market to collect same.

The police were notified and Corporals Phillip and Augustus of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department and other police officers went to the market with the woman.

While there, a man allegedly approached the woman to collect the funds and he was immediately arrested.

ANTHONY RAMGOBIN was charged by Chaguanas police on October 24th, 2021.

Investigations were conducted and he was charged by Acting Corporal Ramdeo.
