Beetham resident latest road fatality

One man is dead following a fatal accident on Saturday morning along the Beetham Highway.

Police identified the victim however it was not confirmed as to whether his relatives had been notified up to Saturday midday and as a result, the information was withheld until his relatives were informed.

The deceased, who is said to be from the Beetham Gardens Community, was running along the ‘fast-lane’ of the eastbound lane of the highway around 6.15 am when he came into contact with a white Nissan  AD Wagon.

The deceased was thrown several feet away and landed violently on the ground.

He died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and rendered assistance.

Officers from the Besson Street Police Station are continuing inquiries.
