Bacolet site earmarked for Scarborough Secondary School

Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), Farley Augustine, has revealed that a 29 acre piece of state land has been earmarked to be the new location of the Scarborough Secondary School.

The proposed site is situated behind the Scarborough Health Centre in Bacolet.

Augustine said: “We listened. We walked across the road behind the Scarborough Health Centre where the Tobago House of Assembly already owns a little over 29 acres of land. We have started conversations with the residents in the area and we thank the residents of that area who are a part of the conversation.”

Augustine said the change in the site was made after touring the location. “We also visited the site and with the stakeholders, who agreed that that is a better site,” he said.

The THA Executive Council has already given the nod of approval for the construction.

Coastal erosion has severely affected the southern side of the Scarborough Secondary School.
