British national Peter Smith, who was attacked by a bull shark while bathing on Turtle Beach, Tobago last Friday is to be flown to Miami later today.
In an update sent to the media, Secretary of the Division of Health Wellness and Social Protection, Dr Faith B.Yisrael confirmed that: “Arrangements have been made for Mr. Peter Smith to be airlifted out of Tobago to Miami within the next 24 hours.”
Smith remains critical but stable at the Scarbrough General Hospital.
Secretary B.Yisrael said a further update will be provided as the need arises.
Reports state that following the attack, Mr Smith’s limbs were saved and reattached, and his wounds closed and treated.
