UNC’s LGE candidates to be presented on Monday

The United National Congress (UNC) will present all of its Local Government Election candidates on Monday during a meeting at the Naparima Boys’ High School auditorium in San Fernando.

UNC deputy leader Jearlean John believes supporters will be happy with the choices made.

She said: “We know the public will understand that this is an election where people will have to vote based on their conscience guiding them and the knowledge of the quality of life they have under the PNM – which is zero.”

Meanwhile, John and other UNC officials remained mum on statements on the radio yesterday by former executive member Taharqa Obika, who recently joined the PNM.

Obika pointed out, among other things, that racial strife and the lack of a serious approach to governance were reasons that influenced his decision to quit the Opposition party.
