2 areas of disturbed weather being monitored

Two areas of Disturbed Weather in the Atlantic are currently engaging the attention of the TT Meteorological Service (TTMS)

The first Area (Area 1) is located approximately 760km east of the Lesser Antilles and has a 30% (low) chance of development into a Tropical Depression over the next 48 hours.

According to Met, current analyses suggest that on its projected track, the centre of the system is forecast to reach the Leeward Islands by Monday night.

Regardless of development, this system will likely produce gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall across portions of the Lesser Antilles overnight into Monday.

The second area (Area 2) is approximately 1,840 km east of the Lesser Antilles and has a 30% chance of development into a Tropical Depression over the next 48 hours.

At this time, Area 2 poses no direct threat to Trinidad and Tobago.

The TTMS says it will continue to closely monitor these systems.
