Over 194 schools will be ready when the new school term begins next Monday.
Education Minister Anthony Garcia said close to 50% of the nation’s schools are old and as a result, presents a challenge to project management contractors to complete all the projects. Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show this morning, he said that while some of the projects will not be completed in time, it will not affect the opening of the schools.
He did say, however, that there were 28 schools that require emergency attention and he confirmed that several ministries were working together to repair them. Some schools, the Minister claimed, is 95% complete and will be ready by the end of the year while others will be ready by the next academic year in 2020.
