Wrecker man shot after being contacted about picking up a truck

The 43-year-old owner of a wrecking business in South Trinidad, was shot by a man during an incident in San Fernando on Monday night.

Reports are that Rasheed Rajbally went to Bertrand Street in Mon Repos around 7.45 pm after a man contacted him on the phone about picking up a truck.

When Rajbally arrived and met the owner of the truck at the location given, the man told him he did not contact him or make any arrangements for his truck to be towed.

While they were speaking, a man approached with a gun pointed at Rajbally and shouted, “Who is Johnson?”

He shot Rajbally in his right shoulder and the right side of his lower abdomen.

As Rajbally fell to the ground, the gunman ran off, escaping through a track between Bertrand Street and Fonrose Street.

Rajbally was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital. Police recovered two live rounds of 9 mm ammunition and three spent 9 mm shells.
