TT Gets US And Canadian Government Help As Probe Continues Into Tobago Oill Spill Incident

The American  and Canadian  governments are helping Trinidad and Tobago as various leads are being pursued in tracking the owners of the vessels involved in the Tobago oil spill incident which happened in February this year.

It was revealed by the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries , Stuart Young, it is apparent there is an industry taking place where rogue vessels and owners are not submitting proper documentation and other critical details relating to their operations such as insurance, content transported.

Mr Young said this situation can negatively impact the maritime industry.

He said all leads received surrounding the Gulf Stream and the Solo Creed vessels which werer on their way to Guyana is being pursued and the hope is to make further inroads in this regard.

These details were disclosed during a news briefing on Monday.
