WASA Issues Advisory To Customers Served By North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant

The Water and Sewerage Authority is advising customers in parts of North-East Trinidad, served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant, who may be experiencing some discolouration in their water supply that, this is associated with works conducted on the storage tank pipeline system at the facility, on May 26th.

This situation has resulting in some discoloured water entering the transmission and distribution system.

The Authority is currently carrying out flushing exercises throughout the distribution system, which is expected to result in the system fully clearing over the next 24 hours.

Customers who may still be receiving a discoloured supply, are advised to let their taps run until it clears.

Among the areas affected include:

Sangre Grande (Town), Sangre Chiquito, Manzanilla, Coalmine, Guaico/Guaico Tamana, Malabar Phases 1,3 & 4, Tumpuna Road, San Rafael, Brazil, La Horquetta, Carapo/O’Meara Road, Signature Park/Mausica Road, Maloney Gardens, Five Rivers, Millennium Park, Sunrise Park, Golden Grove Road.
