Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan says that people are stealing from Government purchases, this after he caught a man in the act of taking metal from the barriers placed along the road.
The Minister recorded his conversation with the man who he caught up with as he was committing the act.
One would think that he would be ashamed, apologetic or even embarrassed … wellll not so much!
Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show this morning the Transport Minister revealed that the Government has been experiencing this problem for a while now.
He said scrap iron dealers who receive stolen material only contribute to the problem.
Minister Sinanan said efforts were afoot to regularize the scrap iron industry and he hoped this would have a positive effect on the situation.
