Woman Fined Six Thousand Dollars For Trafficking Cocaine.

Dwayne Baynes, 28, of Crown Trace, Enterprise, Chaguanas, and Nikita Nanan, 31, of Welcome Road, Cunupia, appeared before Senior Magistrate Indar Jagroo of the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court today, charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Nanan pleaded guilty and was fined six thousand dollars or in default, she will serve one year hard labour.

Baynes pleaded not guilty and was granted on hundred and fifty thousand dollars bail with a surety.

He is expected to reappear before the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court on September 22nd, 2021.

Around 3.30pm on Thursday, members of the Central Division Task Force proceeded to a house in Enterprise, Chaguanas.

Officers executed a search warrant at the home, which was occupied by a man and a woman at the time.

During the search, officers found two clear plastic bags containing a white rock like substance laying on the bed in one of the bedrooms.

Further checks revealed the plastic bag contained a quantity of cocaine amounting to 41 grammes.

As a result, both the man and woman were arrested and conveyed to the Chaguanas Police Station.

They were subsequently charged by PC Williams of the CDTF for the offence.
