Two girls seriously injured in La Horquetta drive by shooting

Two girls under the ages of ten were seriously injured in a drive by shooting in La Horquetta on Friday night. One of the girls received a gunshot to the head.

The children were rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope. One child is in critical condition while the other is reported to be in serious condition. A man was as also shot and killed in the incident.

Police reports indicate that around 8:15 pm, the two girls were among a group of persons liming along Tony Govia Boulevard, Phase Seven, La Horquetta, when a white Nissan Tiida drove past and opened fire hitting the girls and the man. The gathered persons scattered after hearing the explosions from the gunshots.

It was later discovered that the girls and the man were shot and rushed to hospital. The man identified as Oshalye Richard Dubisette, was shot multiple times and died while undergoing treatment at hospital.

Police are continuing Investigations into the incident and other shootings reported in Caranage, Port of Spain, Morvant and Curepe.
