Woman escapes attack – search on for two men

Police are searching for two men, who abducted a 32-year-old woman in Piarco on Sunday.

The woman, who managed to escape the suspects, told police that she boarded a ‘PH’ taxi just after 2pm on Sunday along Golden Grove Road, Piarco.

She said the vehicle had two male occupants—the driver and a passenger seated in the back.

The woman said she sat in the front passenger seat and asked to be taken to Arouca.

However, when the driver reached the vicinity of the Regent Star Hotel at BWIA Boulevard, he veered off course and took her to Mohan Trace, where he abruptly stopped the vehicle and the male passenger came out.

The assailant was armed with a knife and ordered the women out of the car.
The brave woman then attempted to grab the knife from the suspect and a struggle ensued.

The frustrated man then jumped back into the car and the driver sped off and the woman was left with an injury to her right hand.

She sought assistance and was taken to the Piarco Police Station to make a report.
