Child among three dead in early morning Gasparillo fire

A 5-year-old child was among three people who perished in a house fire at Caratal Road, Gasparillo, early Saturday.

Reports state that around 2:15am, the fire service responded to a report of a two-storey house on fire.

However, by the time they arrived at the scene, three occupants of the structure – 22-year-old Keisha Grant, 72-year-old Everlina Miller and 5-year-old Amy Chatergoon were burnt.

Grant was pregnant.

Their bodies were found on the lower floor of the building and fire officials suspect that they were trying to escape at the time of their death.

Two other occupants, Kimberly Chatergoon, 16, and Rosetta Bramble, 55, suffered burns and are currently warded at the San Fernando General Hospital.

The house, which was occupied by 14 people at the time, was completely destroyed.
Two vehicles were also damaged.
