Woman Arrested After TTPS Investigates Child Abuse Video

One woman is now in police custody after the Special Victims Department did an investigation into a viral video on social media,
allegedly depicting the physical assault and mistreatment of two young children.

Head of the Special Victims Department, Superintendent Claire Guy-Alleyne, along with ASP Aroon, spearheaded an immediate operation to locate the individuals involved.

The Children’s Authority was promptly contacted.

According to police reports, a team of officers from the Special Victims Department accompanied by representatives from the Children’s Authority, proceeded to Hunt Road, San Juan, around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Upon arrival at the location the contingent conducted inquiries and engaged with several individuals, which yielded crucial information.

The team acted on the information and located the woman, who was informed of the report against her and the distressing video alleging her involvement in the physical abuse of two children ages 3 and 9 on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

The Children’s Authority Emergency Response Team also conducted interviews with the woman and the affected children.

Subsequently, the children were removed from the home and placed under the care of the Children’s Authority team.

They were promptly provided with medical attention and were subsequently discharged.

The alleged offender, was arrested and taken to the Barataria Police Station as investigations continue.
