A 29-year-old man was granted bail with a surety in the sum of $200,000, when he appeared before a Point Fortin Magistrate, charged with Sexual Penetration yesterday April 20th, 2023.
It is alleged that on April15th, 2022 around 3:40pm the victim was at home in the bathroom taking a shower when the accused, entered and penetrated her. The victim raised an alarm and the accused escaped.
The matter was reported to the Point Fortin Police Station and the Special Victims Unit launched an investigation into the matter. The accused was arrested and charged on Monday 17th April, 2023.
He is expected to reappear in court on the April 24th,2023.
Investigations were spearheaded by W/Supt. (Ag.) Claire Guy-Alleyne and ASP Seecharan, Ag/Inspector Ramphal, W/Sgt Charles of the Special Victims Department.
