Labourer arrested on firearm charges

A 43-year-old labourer has been arrested on firearm charges and is also assisting police regarding reports of robbery.

According to police, officers yesterday went to an auto dealership on Moruga Road to conduct enquiries into a robbery.

While at the location, they found a man allegedly in possession of a firearm and 13 rounds of ammunition.

He is expected to be charged firearm and ammunition possession and is helping officers regarding robbery reports in the Princes Town district.

The exercise, which took place between the hours of 2 pm and 6 pm, was coordinated by Snr Supt Soodeen, ASP Phillip, Insp Mohammed, and Sgts Joseph and Mason. It was supervised by Cpl Lancaster and PC Narine and included officers of the SDTF – Area East.
