5 arrested for DUI’s in Tobago

Five persons have already been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at the start of the Easter weekend celebrations.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) intends to make good on its promise to ensure that the Easter weekend remains safe and enjoyable for all road users as we continue to remind motorists and pedestrians alike to conduct themselves safely when using the nation’s roadways.

The five motorists were arrested in the Tobago Division after testing over the legal limit for blood alcohol level. The exercise was conducted by the Road Policing Task Force (RPTF) Tobago Division and the Scarborough Police between 9:30 pm on April 14th and 2:00 am on April 15th 2022 along Milford Road, Scarborough, Petit Trou Road and Milford Road, Crown Point.

The offenders, one woman and four men, were all charged for driving under the influence and ranged in ages from 28 – 40 years old.

The TTPS is urging drivers to be compliant with the laws governing the roadways. Be attentive to pedestrians and cyclist and make safe driving practices habitual.
Officers will be out in full force to ensure that persons are being responsible and observe the laws over the Easter weekend.
