Tobago man charged with teen’s murder

A Plymouth man is expected to appear before a Scarborough Magistrate on Monday 4th September, 2023, charged with the murder of 17-year-old Precious Wills and the wounding of another person, which occurred on August 27th, 2023.

Omarr Charles, 31, a heavy machinery operator, was also charged with Shooting with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm, Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal, on Friday 1st September, 2023.

Wills, of Bon Accord, was shot on August 27th, 2023, at a bar in the Crown Point district. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Scarborough General Hospital. An 18-year-old woman who was also shot and wounded in the incident remains warded at the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
One male suspect was arrested in connection with the incident on the same date by officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force (TDTF) and Joint Intelligence Patrol Unit.

Investigations were supervised by ASP Bridgelal, Insp. Lynch, W/Insp. (Ag.) Joefield and Cpl (Ag.) Subiah, of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region One, Sub Office, Tobago. Assistance was received from the TDTF, the Criminal Investigations Department and the Joint Intelligence Patrol Unit.

Charles was charged with the offence on Friday 1st September, 2023 by WPC De Gannes of the HBI Region One, Sub-Office, Tobago.
