Searches will resume today to find the remaining divers, who disappeared yesterday during a maintenance exercise on a Paria Trading Company sealine riser.
Paria, in a statement yesterday, said that the men are private contractors employed with LMCS Limited, who were conducting an underwater maintenance exercise at the Number 36 Sealine riser on Berth #6 at Paria Trading Company Limited, Pointe-a-Pierre.
“During the exercise, an incident occurred. The cause and extent are still being determined, which resulted in the loss of sight of the five (5) member team who were being monitored from shore,” Paria’s statement said.
The company said that all management protocols at Paria were immediately triggered in accordance with established standards.
Around 9 pm last night, Paria said one member of the team had been found and was in a stable condition at the San Fernando General Hospital.
It said that further rescue efforts were underway with the support of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard.
