WASA Urges Customers To Store And Conserve Water For Adverse Weather Conditions

The Water and Sewerage Authority is advising customers and members of the public that it is taking all necessary steps to prepare for Adverse Weather.

WASA says this is in accordance with The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service’s Yellow Level Alert for Trinidad and Tobago currently in effect until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

In a media release on Wednesday, WASA said the heavy rains and winds associated with such weather systems, may affect operations at several of the Authority’s water treatment facilities, due to a combination of factors such as turbid river conditions, clogged intakes and power failures.

Therefore, customers are advised to maintain/establish a system of storage and also manage their water use efficiently, by reducing consumption.

This can be done by eliminating wasteful practices, repairing leaks and overflowing water tanks at home and in businesses.

For further information or assistance, customers are asked to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/26.
