WASA conducting emergency repairs on Frederick Street, traffic in POS

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising motorists and members of the public of ongoing emergency repairs to a leaking 6-inch diameter pipeline, at the corner of Frederick and Queen Street, Port of Spain.

In a statement, WASA reports that repair works in the area had been undertaken and completed overnight.  However, the Authority revealed that another leak developed earlier today on the cast iron pipeline in close proximity to the initial repairs.

The Authority said these emergency repairs are expected to be completed by 6:00 pm today.

WASA stated: “Motorists are asked to obey the signs and instructions of the Traffic Control Officers on duty in the vicinity of the jobsite; or use alternative routes where possible.”
