Former UNC MP, Jack Warner has been ordered to repay Krishna Lalla the sum of TT$1,505,493 plus interest.
The judgment was handed down today.
It arose out of an initial 2018 ruling of High Court Judge Frank Seepersad.
Justice Seepersad had ordered Warner, to pay the $1.5m to Lalla, a UNC financier at the time, and who claimed the money given to Warner was a loan in the lead up to the 2007 general election campaign.
Warner has argued that the money was given as a gift.
The matter was heard in the Privy Council on May 15 2023 by Lord Hodge, Lord Lloyd-Jones, Lord Kitchin, Lord Hamblen, and the ruling handed down today.
