Angostura says it has no business agreement with Michael B Jordan

Angostura Ltd has spoken and confirmed it has no business agreement with Black Panther actor Michael B Jordan.

This in light of his most recent business venture with creating a rum named J’Ouvert.

In a Newsday report, a representative from Angostura told the paper that they are not in a position to verify whether or not the packaged contents within the bottle is in fact Trinidad rum.

Also based on the report the company also has no ‘contractual relationship’ with J’Ouvert and or the two bottles of bitters placed within the package.

The issue of the name change has been discussed by a number of local and international public figures; speaking out on the issue were Wendell Manwarren, Rubadiri Victor and most recently was Nicki Minaj – tweets from T&T citizens have also been highlighted on The Shaderoom in the U.S and Buzzfeed.

The trademark cites Louis Ryan Shaffer as the co-owner of J’Ouvert.
