Verbal Clash Transpires Between Duke, Presiding Officer During THA Plenary Sitting

Political Leader of the Progressive Democratic Patriots, Watson Duke, and the Presiding Officer of the Tobago House of Assembly, Abby Taylor, got into a verbal clash during the question and answer period at the Plenary Sitting of the THA on Thursday.

Mr Duke presented his round of questioning but was reminded by the Presiding Officer he had five minutes to answer three questions.

However, Mr Duke was not satisfied with this time period and voiced his objection with it.

Mr Duke claimed the minority council was given adequate time to raise rebuttals during their discourse.

At one point of the deliberations Ms Taylor voiced her firmness on the position adding no one will be allowed to manipulate the Standing Orders.
