Use Resilience Of Slaves As Motivation To Overcome Challenges, Says Kambon

Citizens are being urged to allow the struggles and oppression experienced by slaves to serve as an inspiration to them to press on in spite of the challenges they face.

Head of the Emancipation Support Committee, Kafra Kambon, made the recommendation while addressing the opening of the Lidj Yasu Omowale Emancipation Village at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, on Friday.

Mr Kambon recalled the hardship faced by African slaves and noted that in spite of the difficulties endured they pressed on.

Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Randall Mitchell, said it is a delight to be back to celebrate such a significant occasion after a two year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
