Ukraine Suggests UN Peacekeepers For Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant

Ukraine’s Nuclear Chief, Rafael Grossi, suggests United Nations peacekeepers could secure the Zaporizhzhia power plant.

Russia occupied the power plant early in its invasion of Ukraine.

The plant has also come under repeated attack.

Both sides have been blaming each other for the situation.

Last week, UN inspectors observed damage at the power station during a visit. They proposed a security zone be set up immediately to protect the facility.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, welcomed the calls by the International Atomic Energy Agency for a safety protection zone at Zaporizhzhia.
