TTUTA Backs ECCE Teachers As Protest Held In POS Today

The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association claims there is need for fair treatment of early childhood care and education teachers.

TTUTA claims ECCE teachers have been asked by the Ministry of Education to come to the Centres during the vacation period.

However, TTUTA is questioning the decision adding there is need for improved treatment of ECCE teachers and suggests changes be made to the contract under which they operate.

Speaking with the media during a protest in front of the Ministry of Education in Port of Spain on Tuesday, President of TTUTA, Martin Lum Kin, confirmed the executive of the union will meet with the Permanent Secretary tomorrow to highlight their concerns.
