TTPS cars collide in Siparia police station compound

A collision involving a police vehicle and driver on the compound of a police station is being investigated . Siparia police are investigating their colleagues who were involved in a collision while driving police vehicles on the station’s compound on Friday as reports indicated that one car was driving into the compound from High Street, while the other was reversing to respond to a report.

The collision occurred at around 6.05 p.m. The official  report stated that two constables attached to the Siparia Police Station were leaving in a marked police van to attend to a domestic report in the district.

While one of the constables was reversing the vehicle on the compound, it collided with a marked police car driven by a police constable, who was entering the compound.

The damage to the van was to the right rear bumper, and damage to the police car was to the left rear door and fender.

W/Cpl Billy who is leading the investigations, checked the driving particulars of both drivers and found them to be valid. The investigating officer warned both drivers of intended prosecution under Section 73 (1) of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act 48:50. No one was injured during the incident.
