T&TEC Starts Restoration Work Following Outages

Having received the all clear from the emergency authorities to operate, T&TEC has started restoration of the electricity supply across the country, following the passage of Hurricane Beryl in Tobago and tropical storm conditions in Trinidad.

Work in Tobago commenced at approximately 12.30 P.M. and the first segment of the Northside Feeder has been restored, bringing relief to the majority of customers from Scarborough to Mason Hall.

A few pockets within this zone are pending.

Damage assessments and repairs to infrastructure in other parts of the island are being conducted at this time.

The impact of the adverse weather has largely been seen in Tobago and East Trinidad and, as at 2:00 P.M., there were 62 confirmed area outage reports.

Of this, 33 are in Tobago.

While fallen trees, debris, landslides and flooding will impact the work of the crews, customers are assured that we will work assiduously to complete restoration in the shortest possible time.
