TT to launch booster programme; over 670,000 doses on hand

Trinidad and Tobago has over 600,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines available and these will soon be rolled out as part of an upcoming vaccine booster programme.

Speaking at today’s media briefing, Health Minister Deyalsingh, stated “Trinidad and Tobago has 673,000 doses of vaccines on hand, which is a good place to be, especially as we are going to be launching the booster programme. I hope to announce it later on next week, sticking to my one to two week deadline to get it done. Those 600-thousand odd persons, we will soon be advising you as to how you will be getting your booster to give you that additional level of support.”

Mr. Deyalsingh confirmed that in terms of acquiring additional vaccines for the booster programme, talks have been ongoing with vaccine manufacturers, other countries and COVAX regarding vaccine acquisition.
