Trinbagonian beauty queen and businesswoman, Janelle Penny Commissiong says she hopes the advocacy for violence against women is not another 9 day wonder. Penny who copped the Miss Universe title in 1977, as the first black woman to win the coveted title, has always been an advocate for equality and women’s rights. She made the comment while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show this morning. Penny said the current conversation should be part of a wider discussion.
She offered these words of inspiration to all women in Trinidad and Tobago.
