TT medical supplies almost back to pre-Covid 19 levels

Trinidad and Tobago’s supply of medical supplies and drugs are almost back to pre-covid 19 pandemic levels.

This is confirmed by the Head Procurement and Supply Chain Management at the National Insurance Property Development Company Limited, Arvinash Mahabirsingh.

He made the disclosure at this week’s Public Administration and Appropriation Committee meeting.

It did an enquiry into the adequacy of pharmaceuticals and non-­pharmaceutical supplies by the Ministry of Health.

Details were revealed on the various systems in place to ensure medical stocks are monitored regularly to avoid shortage or stock out and action taken to correct the situation when problems develop.

He cited instances when the supply chain was affected and steps taken to fix the development.
