T&T actor, Michael Cherrie can celebrate a huge accomplishment by being cast as one of the lead actors in the upcoming international Netflix film, titled ‘Shirley’.
’Shirley’ is being produced by U.S actress and director Regina King, from ‘The Harder They Fall, and writer/director, John Ridley of ‘12 Years a Slave’.
The story of ‘Shirley’ speaks to the “political icon Shirley Chisholm (King) who was the first Black Congresswoman and the first Black woman to run for President of the U.S.
The film will also highlight the cost of accomplishment for Shirley herself and conversations with the Chisholm’s family and friends, following her historic presidential campaign.
