Transport Commissioner Clive Clarke says that there are presently joint exercises being carried out by the Licensing department and the TTPS.

He made the comments while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show this morning.

He said that the officers are being guided by the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act.

Commenting on consternation by members of the public with a decision to conduct such an exercise on the Easter weekend, he said that the exercises are being conducted regularly regardless of whether or not it’s a holiday, however he was perplexed as to why it was conducted in the Maracas area when so many would have been on their way to the beach.

He said that persons cannot at this time receives a ticket for tints however they could be charged with a summary offense which means that the guilty party would have to face the courts to answer the charge.
