Seven homeless after Valencia fire

Fire gutted the home of a Valencia family on Saturday morning, leaving seven people homeless.

Three people, including a four-year-old boy, were treated for burns.

Homeowner Angela Singh, 46, reported that she woke up at 1.30 am and heard a crackling sound coming from the living room of their Clarence Trace home.

She then woke her two grandchildren and her sons Michael Singh and Sherwin Castellano.

Singh said they were able to escape from the fire but her son Michael suffered first degree burns, while her grandson was burnt on his hands and she suffered minor burns.

The injured were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Complex where they were being treated.

Singh said the entire house was destroyed in the fire, and all the family’s belongings were lost.

If you are willing to assist the family you can call 323-2709.

Fire officials are investigating.
