Tobago now has 47 active COVID cases – their largest figure since pandemic started

Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development Tracy Davidson-Celestine has revealed that there is now a major cause for concern on the sister isle, as they have recorded 47 active COVID-19 cases, the largest number of positive cases recorded on the island since the start of the pandemic.

Davidson-Celestine said this rapid rise in positive cases on the island is of worrisome and she urged Tobagonians to be even more vigilant than before.

“Now is not the time to panic, but to be level headed and proactive,” she said in a statement.

She said “So far we have managed to continue with normal health services even while many countries cannot even offer the basics. If we don’t have the public support and buy-in, the separation of pathways that we now enjoy will become a thing of the past.”

Davidson-Celestine urged the public to pay attention to science since that is the only way to chart a course out of this pandemic.
