Police are probing an incident in Maraval, where a 17-year-old girl was shot by two men who were looking for a male relative.
Reports state that at around 3 pm on Wednesday, the female victim was in a bedroom at her Celestine Trace, Maraval home when two men entered.
The suspects asked for the relative as they pointed weapons at her.
One of them then fired a shot, hitting the teen in the left thigh.
PC Belmar and other officers responded and the victim was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where she was treated and warded in stable condition.
One spent 9mm shell casing was found at the scene.
