The Port of Spain to Chaguanas Taxi drivers Association says despite the public outcry they have no other choice but to raise taxi fares at this time.
Commencing Monday October 11th a new fare structure will be in effect.
President of the Association Miguel Dolabaille told our newsroom this morning there is no other choice but to re-evaluate the structure of all prices and fares pertaining to commute between Port of Spain and Chaguanas.
The general taxi fare between Port of Spain and Chaguanas will now be set at $15.
He said there were various reasons why this course of action had to be taken by the Association.
When asked why the Association didn’t wait until after the Budget Presentation next Monday, he had this to say.
