Acting Commissioner of Police McDonald Jacob has suggested that there is no intention to send armed officers on foot patrols into schools.
News that the Education Ministry was working with the TTPS to increase police presence at schools brought consternation to some parents.
Concerns were aired on social media over the safety of allowing armed officers to patrol on school compounds.
However Commissioner Jacob spoke with News Power Now and explained the TTPS’ plan and intent regarding this situation.
Commissioner Jacob noted that this will coincide with a softer approach which will include psycho-social work and cooperation from school officials.
