Akido “Sunday” Williams was denied bail yesterday after he was charged with counseling a gang leader under the Anti-Gang Act.
He was remanded into custody after he appeared before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate charged with the offence. Williams was denied Bail because police submitted what appeared to be William’s incomplete criminal record. The magistrate also questioned the status of two robbery cases in 1998 and 1999 which appeared to be pending.
Williams is charged under Section 9(b) of the Anti-Gang Act, No. 1 of 2018. If convicted, he faces imprisonment for up to 25 years.
