Thirty year old student nurse Ellen Joseph 30, was shot when gunmen opened fire after storming her home on Wednesday night. Her husband Robert Mendoza was also shot about the upper body. She died while receiving treatment at hospital, while her husband Mendoza is warded in critical condition.
The incident occurred at 8:15pm at the couple’s home in Rancho Quemado where the couple was at home with other relatives including children.
The two gunmen reported entered the home and fired directly at Joseph and Mendoza hitting them both about the upper body. The relatives including the children were traumatized but otherwise not injured in the attack.
Police are investigating a drug link as the motive for the murder and attack.
