Sixty-Six East POS Residents Benefit From Construction Skill Disciplines

Sixty-six participants who all reside in East Port of Spain will benefit from six construction skill disciplines.

They are namely; Carpentry, Plumbing, Masonry, Welding, Electrical and Heavy Equipment Operations through service providers MIC Institute of Technology and the National Energy Skills Centre.

This year over four hundred persons applied.

This took place as part of the East Port of Spain Development Company Limited; an agency of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development successfully launched the third cohort of its signature programme Education to Production -Construction Skills Training at the Laventille Community Complex.

Construction Skills Training is a trade school format initiative of EPOS for the development of trade and construction skills particularly among the youth of working age in East Port of Spain.

The programme provides skills training in areas currently in demand in the construction industry.

In a media release on Tuesday the enabling graduates to be readily available to public and private sector agencies engaged in the building and construction trade.
