Shotgun seized in South Western Division

A team of officers seized a homemade shotgun during a roving road check and drug block exercise, which was conducted in the South Western Division yesterday, January 11th, 2023.

During the exercise, the officers acted on information, then proceeded to an abandoned house, located at Flemming Street, Biche. When the officers conducted a search of the area, they found one home-made shot gun.

The exercise was coordinated by Sgt Narine and Cpl Ramkhelawan, and included PC Boodram, PC Gopaul and PC Singh.
Meanwhile, officers of the Barrackpore Police Station acted on information, then proceeded to a track off Jaipaulsingh Road, Barrackpore, during an anti-crime exercise yesterday.

While making checks of a bushy area, the officers discovered one black tactical plate carrier, along with five rounds of 5.56 millimetre ammunition. PC Sandy took possession of the items, which were then conveyed to the Barrackpore Police Station.
Investigations are continuing.
