A 26 year old sexual predator has escaped from police custody and is on the run.
Police said underneath the gown the man wore a red tee shirt and a plaid short pants. He escaped from the Princess Town health center. He was detained by police in connection with the disappearance of a 15 year old girl on Wednesday.
The Barrackpore teen was dressed in her school uniform and was last seen walking along Poui Trace, Moruga at nightfall.
She has since been found , interviewed by the Child protection unit and returned to her parents.
On Wednesday morning she was picked up by a man driving a Nissan Almera outside a secondary school in Barrackpore at around 7.50 a.m.
Police tracked the vehicle to Moruga and detained the suspect at that time before he eventually escaped. Up to press time he was still at large. Police have launched a manhunt for his recapture.
