Head of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago Rajiv Diptee says that the consumer has benefited from lower prices passed on to them contrary to the believe of the Chamber.
He spoke with News Power Now this morning said coming out of the pandemic we would have experienced a situation where world prices on the international market were elevated for various reasons.
He cited the war in Ukraine as well as issues with transport and ocean and shipping as two examples.
He said while we have seen a cooling of prices, this has not immediately translated to cooling of prices.
He assured that this is very good news for consumers ahead of the Christmas season.
